For Reasons Known Only To Himself
God works in mysterious ways. This has been an enduring truth in the lives of His people from the old testament all the way to the new testament times.

“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever.”- Psalm 118:29
“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever.”- Psalm 118:29
The psalmist declared that GOD IS GOOD!
But if indeed God is truly good, why does He allow evil to exist?
Our definition of what is ‘good’ is usually egocentric and wrapped up in self-preservation. Our ‘good’ is the ‘now satisfaction’, an escape from the realities of pain and suffering in this life. God’s definition of what is ‘good’ is based on His nature- that He is sovereign & He allows things for His glory & for our good. “I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all these things.”Isaiah 45:7. That’s why when Job experienced ‘a bad day in one day’, his wife advised him to curse God and die but he quickly rebuked her saying,”You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” Job 2:10.
One thing for sure that because His nature is good, everything He does & He allows is good. Again why does He allow evil? He allows evil so that we can acknowledge that there is a good God where we can run to and put our hope in Him.
Can you appreciate the stars in the sky without the evening night? Will there be ‘a black gold’ today without the dead fossils of long ago?
Can you recognize a genuine without a false one? Will there be a joy of victory without experiencing defeat?
God wanted us to acknowledge(worship) that “He is good and His LOVE endures forever.”
Put your hope in Him…trust Him. I remembered you in prayer today
