And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. – Genesis 1:11
For everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; – Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
– 1 Corinthians 3:7
Unknown to this generation, gardening is a good source of healthy food and can also be a source of income. The pandemic that has plagued the world has caused restlessness to most of us. The current situation has taught us to think of more ways on how to be sustainable and be resilient. As part of CCSGM’s effort to encourage the brethren to have a meaningful and productive hobby during this pandemic, “Gardening Generation” was started.
This project is opened to all kids, youth, young professionals, and young at heart. It was held last August 1 via Zoom. Twenty-one participants attended this morning full of fun, games, and learning.
To cap off this session, participants were encouraged to join the Gardening Generation Contest. There are two categories: Kids and Adults. Participants who joined the contest were provided 3 types of seed: pechay, mustard, and tomato. After 5 weeks, photos and videos of the plants will be submitted for judging. The winners will win a CASH PRIZE!!!
The next Gardening Generation will be on the 1st week of September.
For those who were not able to attend, sharing the Gardening Generation Zoom recording last August 1.
