I recently read a ‘testimonial’ article on her perspective about her Mondays, let me share it with you:
“So Monday, we meet again.”,
I frowned… As I was driving to office today (today is a Monday!), I could feel something common in the traffic around: everyone had ‘that’ look on their faces! ‘It’s a Monday! Whoppie!’ – Of course no one is going to exclaim ‘that’ unless they don’t have their bosses getting on their nerves for meeting deadlines, or a pile of work waiting for them. Okay, now some who really, really love their work might be on their toes to reach their offices.
Alas, though, they might be a handful only & for the rest of the majority, it is time for Monday blues. Trust me, it is rather difficult to bid adieu to the lovely Sunday & embrace a Monday. It requires serious motivation to bid farewell to your bed & say shoo to your beauty sleep. And when we manage to drag ourselves to our offices, the only consolation we have is, almost everyone else in the world shares this feeling!”
Maybe to most of us we can relate with her ‘struggle’. We feel that we are not yet done with our weekend rest & recreation or we still have a ‘hangover’ from meeting old peers last night. Probably others spent their weekend on household chores or car repairs & time flew so fast & it’s Monday again.
Those who have been serving God & His people in the church knows that Sunday is both energizing & draining- passionate preaching, powerful worship, fellowship full of shakes & hugs, fruitful meetings & ‘ambush’ counselings.
As i always answer when someone asks me on Mondays “How are you Pastor Jeff?”
“I am TIRED but INSPIRED.”
Here are some reasons why i answer this way:
1. Jesus, in obedience to His Father, gave His life, Christ died for our sins(1 Cor.15:3). My inspiration in life is none other but the cross of Christ- a message of sacrificial & immeasurable love.
2. Every Monday & each day is a gift from God giving us a chance to correct the wrongs in our life, repent of besetting sins, heal wounded relationships or excel in our fields of life.
3. Last but not the least, Monday is an added day to our life for us to experience His grace again in the land of the living and to be a blessing to the people around us- these what makes life so beautiful! Let me close by quoting Psalm 42:8-Yet the Lord will command his loving kindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. What is your song tonight?
I remembered you in prayer today.
