In motorsports, a pit stop is where a racing vehicle stops in the pits during a race for refuelling, new tyres, repairs, mechanical adjustments, a driver change, as a penalty, or any combination of the above. Not all of these are allowed in all forms of racing. While the term is still used in motorsports, it also gained popularity with driving in general when embarking on long road trips, suggesting a brief break from driving, as well as a refuelling stop. These “pit stops” grant the travelers a bathroom break, a breakfast/
We all need “pitstop” in our life or else we will be burned out. Pitstop in life will refresh us & fired up our life once again. How do we do this? Let me suggest three ways…
* Meditation/ reflective retreat- do it on a weekly basis & special retreats at least once a year. Jesus, in His humanity 2,000 years ago, did this everyday. The four gospels clealry described Jesus’ moments with the Father early in the morning.
* Recreation- running, fishing, travelling, working out,etc with your loved ones or friends. Jesus spends time alone with His disciples.
* Compassion- God created us not to be an island but to be a blessing unto others. This kind of ‘pitstop’ will surely help us realize that you are ‘more blessed’ than others & appreciate community life.
Galatians 6:9-10-Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
