“Wala Na, Finish Na (It is done, It is Finished)”

*This poem was originally written in Tagalog, the Filipino Dialect. An English Translation is also provided below.

Talaga bang may kapayapaan ako…

Kung ako’y namuhay na makamundo?

Habang akin itong iniisip.

May isang malambing na tinig akong narinig.

Ang sabi niya’y… Advance daw siyang mag-isip.

Bago pa man likhain ang mundo.

Kahit saan pa man tayo magpunta.

Siya ang daan, buhay at katotohanan.

So sabi niya sa akin… san kapa?

San ka pa magtitiwala?

Sa mundong ito o sa Kanya?

Ako’y nag-isip at agad kong napagtanto

Na walang permanente sa mundong ito.

Lahat ay lilipas at bibiguin ako.

Pero kay Kristo sigurado ako.

Sigurado ako dahil siyang lumikha sa akin

At nag-alay nang buhay kahit di ako deserving.

Wala na, Finish ka na Taning!

Dahil ang Panginoon ko’y naging magiting.

Salamat Panginoon, Advance kang mag-isip.

English Translation:

It is done, it is finished. That’s what they said.

It is done, it is finished. “You have no hope yet.”

It is done, it is finished. “What’s your point?”

It is done, it is finished. “Why continue?”

These are the words I’ve been hearing over again,

In this world where I want to be closer to Him

No need to persist,

If I always feel hurt.

It is done, it is finished. They asked me to stop.

Because no matter what I do, they say I will never change

I, a natural fool, will there still be hope for my life?

It is done, maybe I’m really done

There is no hope no matter what I do

I don’t want it anymore! I give up! In the end, I know the result.

The result is death, and there is my destiny

I think I have peace.

But wait, am I right?

Or is it just a trick of my heart?

Do I really have peace?

If I lived my life on worldly things

As I was thinking about it

I heard a sweet voice

He says, He knows what is ahead

So I listened to Him

He knows what is ahead, and therefore chose me

Before the creation of the world

His name is Jesus Christ

And through Him I will know my purpose.

It is done, it is finished. That is what He also said.

Not my life but my sins.

My sins…

He has already finished it at the Cross of Calvary.

It is done, it is finished. That is what He also said.

Before he ascended to the Father.

A declaration…. my freedom

Freedom from the sin that separates me from Him.

To Him where I can see and feel

The true hope

The Hope that I thought I will have in this world.

It is done, I will finish this!

Not my life but this drama of mine.

Because when I knew, I knew Christ

I found out my true value

My value is not in this world

But there, there in His Cross at Calvary.

At the Cross of Calvary where he suffered

To give us all hope

Hope that we can never see

No matter where we go

He is the way, the truth and the life

So He said to me… To whom?

To whom will you trust?

In this world or in Him?

I wonder and immediately realized

That is no permanent thing in this world.

Everything will pass by and will fail me.

In Christ, I am sure.

I am sure because He created me

He offered His life even if I do not deserve it.

It is done, it is finished!

Because my Lord is valiant.

Thank you Lord for my Salvation

Had I not accepted you,

By the time I come to your throne.

It is done, it is finished! In hell I am.
