He Took All The Difficult So That You Can Have All The Easy

A young boy from Seekers Ministry once asked me “Why is salvation so easy?”

After explaining that it is followed by dying to yourself everyday and that the way of salvation is by grace through faith in Christ and not by works (Eph. 2:8-9), still he find it surprisingly simple.

He said: “Why, that’s too simple. I thought it should be complicated! It’s too easy. It can’t be the way of salvation!”

In reply, I would point them to the cross and explain to them:

“It is simple like that because Somebody died to make it simple for us. It was the Lord Jesus who died for our sins. It should have been us there, but He took all the difficult so that we can have all the easy.” My friend, it’s now easy and simple for you because it was difficult and hard for Him. He took all the difficult so that you can have all the easy. He swallowed all the bitter so that you can have all the sweet. He took all the rough so that you can have all the smooth. He took all the low so that you can have all the high. He took all the storm so that you can have all the calm. He took all the pain so that you can have all the gain”.

If you think your salvation was all about you? Nagkakamali ka because the very purpose of Christ’s propitiation or yung willingness nia na mamatay sa cross was solely to glorify the Father kasi alam nia na un yung mag sasatisfy sa justice and holiness na hinihingi na diyos because of the crime of man’s sins according to John 17:1. Kaya pagnaunawaan mo yung propitiation of Christ. We suddenly understand na He doesn’t “need” us for anything, kundi tayo ang may kailangan sakanya, that every single thing He does is for His own glory; and we are the blessed recipients of grace.

Will you now receive freely the salvation that He alone worked hard for you? Will you put your trust in Him and what He did on the cross for your salvation?
